Jason Robertson Exits Early On Wednesday

Dallas Stars left wing Jason Robertson (knee) exited Wednesday's contest early. In addition, after the contest, the star forward was seen wearing a brace on his right knee. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on his status leading up to the Stanley Cup Playoffs, as he may need to miss time in the opening round if this is a serious injury. Before exiting Wednesday's game, Robertson logged just over six minutes of ice time and one blocked shot. Over his last 11 games, Robertson has found the back of the net six times and added six helpers. Through 82 total games this season, the 25-year-old has scored 35 goals and added 45 helpers. This was the third time in the past four years he scored at least 35 goals. If he were to miss time, Colin Blackwell would draw into the starting lineup.

Timo Meier Tallies Three Points In Victory

New Jersey Devils left wing Timo Meier tallied three points during their 5-4 overtime victory over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday evening. Meier opened the scoring in the first period on a slap shot. In the second, he would tally the secondary assist on Stefan Noesen's power-play goal. Then, in overtime, Meier would add his second secondary assist on Brian Dumoulin's game-winner. Over his last five games, Meier has been productive on the scoresheet, tallying six points (four goals). Before this recent surge, the 28-year-old was in a bit of a slump, tallying just two points (all goals) over his last seven contests. Through 80 games this season, Meier has found the back of the net 26 times and added 27 helpers. He is a strong option in DFS on Wednesday evening, facing the Detroit Red Wings.

Adrian Kempe Scores Three Points In Victory

Los Angeles Kings right wing Adrian Kempe tallied three points during their victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Monday evening. Kempe tallied the primary assist on Quinton Byfield's power-play goal in the opening frame. In the second, Kempe would tally his second primary assist, this time on Kevin Fiala's power-play goal. In the third period, Kempe would find the back of the net himself to put the game out of reach. This victory clinched them the No. 2 seed in the Pacific Division, which will give them home ice in their first-round matchup against the Oilers. Over his previous eight contests, Kempe has found the back of the net five times and added eight helpers. He remains a strong play in DFS heading into the postseason, playing on the top forward unit.

Ilya Sorokin Stops 25 Shots In Victory

New York Islanders goaltender Ilya Sorokin stopped all 25 shots he saw en route to defeating the New Jersey Devils on Sunday afternoon. Bo Horvat was able to break the scoreless tie in the second frame. The Devils held the slight advantage in the shot total, but Sorokin was able to lead the way. Sorokin has been sidelined since April 8 due to a lower-body injury but looked quite sharp in his return. Before his injury, Sorokin carried a 2-3 record with a 3.20 GAA and a .883 save percentage. The Islanders have been eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and the team may opt to rest Sorokin for their final two games. If he were to sit, Marcus Hogberg would likely see the starter's crease during their final two games. Through 56 games, Sorokin has posted a 25-19-12 with a 3.01 GAA.

Nikolaj Ehlers Re-Aggravates Foot Injury

Winnipeg Jets winger Nikolaj Ehlers (foot) was limited to 9:01 of action in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. The Danish forward had to be helped off the ice after backing into an official in the second period, re-aggravating a foot injury. Ehlers returned from the injury only a couple of games ago. He was out for two games and could now miss additional time. Winnipeg returns to action on Sunday, facing the Edmonton Oilers on home ice. David Gustafsson figures to rejoin the lineup if Ehlers can't play. At the same time, Jets head coach Scott Arniel would have to shake up his second line.

Shane Pinto Strikes Twice On Friday

Ottawa Senators center Shane Pinto scored twice during their 4-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Friday evening. Pinto opened the scoring in the first period on a snapshot. Later in the third, Pinto would conclude the evening by scoring the empty-netter to put the game out of reach. Over his past five contests, Pinto has found the back of the net four times and added one helper. During this stretch, he has logged eight shots on goal, added nine hits, and tallied five blocked shots. However, before this recent surge, Pinto tallied just two points (two helpers) over his last nine games. Through 67 games this season, the 24-year-old has scored 20 goals and tallied 15 assists. He is just one point away from setting a new career-high. He will remain in a middle-six role in the Ottawa offense.

Tom Wilson Nets Game-Winner On Thursday

Washington Capitals right wing Tom Wilson scored the game-winner during Thursday's contest against the Carolina Hurricanes. This victory clinched Washington as the top seed in the Eastern Conference. Wilson found the back of the net in the second period on a wrist shot. This outing extended Wilson's point streak to two games. Over his last 12 games, Wilson has tallied nine points (four goals) and added 23 penalty minutes, 36 hits, and 19 shots on goal. Through 77 games this season, the 31-year-old has enjoyed another productive campaign, scoring 33 goals and adding 30 helpers. Wilson has also logged 224 hits, 163 shots on goal, and added 64 blocked shots, which gives him value in category formats. Fantasy managers should expect Wilson to remain in a top-six role.

Connor McDavid Logs Three Assists In Surprise Return

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid (lower body) recorded three assists in a surprising return to the lineup during Wednesday's 4-3 victory over the St. Louis Blues. Pregame reports indicated that McDavid would remain sidelined for the matchup, but he made an unexpected comeback after an eight-game absence. The Oilers captain became the seventh player in NHL history to record at least five consecutive seasons with 65 or more assists. Despite missing more than two weeks of action, McDavid is currently tied for sixth in scoring with 93 points (26 goals, 67 assists) in 64 games. He has made it onto the score sheet in each of his last 14 appearances and aims to secure his fifth consecutive 100-point campaign in the final stretch of the regular season.

Rutger McGroarty Exits Early On Tuesday

Pittsburgh Penguins rookie center Rutger McGroarty (lower body) exited Tuesday's contest against the Chicago Blackhawks early. The former 14th overall pick blocked a shot in the second frame and exited the contest shortly after. Before the injury, he logged just over 11 minutes of ice time and logged one shot, one hit, and two blocked shots. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but the Penguins will likely exercise caution given that they are not in the playoff picture. In addition, the Penguins will likely opt to send McGroarty back to the AHL for the Calder Cup Playoffs. McGroarty rejoined the NHL roster in late March and has tallied three points across five games. He broke camp with the NHL roster but did not get on the scoresheet during his first three games. Even though he spent most of the season in the AHL, fantasy managers should expect the 21-year-old to have a spot in the Pittsburgh top-six next October.

Adrian Kempe Exits Early On Monday

Los Angeles Kings center Adrian Kempe (personal) exited Monday's contest against the Seattle Kraken early due to a personal matter. Before departing the contest, he logged just over 13 minutes of ice time and did not get on the scoresheet. He logged four shots on goal and added three hits. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to their next contest against the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday. If Kempe were to miss the next contest, Trevor Moore will likely move up to the top forward unit and play alongside Anze Kopitar and Andrei Kuzmenko. Before Monday's game, Kempe was riding a four-game point streak. Through 77 games this season, Kempe scored 33 goals and added 31 assists. He remains a solid option in all formats when he returns.

Tage Thompson Scores Hat Trick On Sunday

Buffalo Sabres center Tage Thompson scored a hat trick during their 6-3 victory over the Boston Bruins on Sunday evening. Thompson scored his first goal in the second frame on a wrist shot. Later in the third, he would find the back of the net twice, including with the empty-netter to seal the victory. This impressive outing extended his current goal-scoring streak to four games. During this surge, Thompson has found the back of the net seven times. Over his last seven contests, Thompson has scored an impressive nine goals and added one helper. Despite Buffalo's struggles this season, the former 26th overall pick has enjoyed an impressive campaign, reaching the 40-goal mark for the second time in his career. He remains a must-start player through the remainder of the campaign.

Sidney Crosby Bags 14th Career Hat Trick

Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby scored his 14th career hat trick and recorded one assist as the team shocked the Dallas Stars with a 5-3 road win on Saturday. Dallas suffered only its 10th home loss of the season when Crosby & Co. turned a 3-2 deficit into a win in the final period. Crosby surpassed Evgeni Malkin for the second most hat tricks in Penguins history, trailing only Mario Lemieux (40). He also tied Jaromir Jagr for the second most four-point efforts in franchise history, having notched at least four points in a single game for the 43rd time. Lemieux also holds this record with 124. Crosby is finishing the season strongly and holds a 12-game point streak. He has reached 30 goals for the fourth consecutive campaign and boasts 86 points through 75 outings.

Evgeni Malkin Could Return To Action Saturday

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin (upper body) could be back in action on Saturday against the Dallas Stars. The veteran star returned to practice on Friday and will be considered a game-time decision for Saturday's contest. Malkin has sat out four games while recovering from an upper-body injury. If Malkin receives clearance on Saturday, he will reclaim his position as the second-line center and probably return to the top power-play unit. In 62 appearances throughout the season, Malkin has registered 15 goals and 46 points. He has scored in each of his last two appearances.

John Gibson Exits Early On Thursday

Anaheim Ducks goaltender John Gibson (lower body) was unable to finish Thursday's contest against the Calgary Flames. He was able to log just over 39 minutes of ice time before being replaced by Lukas Dostal. He stopped 23 of the 26 shots he saw and took the loss. The 31-year-old has dealt with numerous injuries throughout the campaign and could be in danger of missing the remainder of the season if the injury is deemed serious. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to their next game on Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks. Through 29 contests this season, Gibson has held an 11-11-2 record with a modest 2.77 GAA and a .911 save percentage.

Jonathan Drouin Exits Wednesday's Contest

Colorado Avalanche center Jonathan Drouin (lower body) exited Wednesday's contest against the Chicago Blackhawks with a lower-body injury. Drouin was able to log just over six minutes of ice time and held a -1 rating before exiting. Over his past three contests, Drouin has not tallied a point. Fantasy managers should monitor his status leading up to Thursday's contest against the Columbus Blue Jackets. If Drouin were to miss time, fantasy managers should expect Miles Wood or Jimmy Vesey to draw into the starting lineup. Ross Colton will likely move up to the second offensive line. Through 43 games this season, Drouin has found the back of the net 11 times and added 26 helpers. The 30-year-old has added 56 total shots on goal and just 14 hits and 12 blocks.

Evgeni Malkin Joins Penguins For Road Trip

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin (upper body) will accompany the team on its upcoming three-game road trip. This suggests that Malkin may be ready to return to the lineup soon. He has missed three games due to an upper-body injury. The Penguins begin the road trip with a matchup against the St. Louis Blues on Thursday and will also face the Dallas Stars and Chicago Blackhawks later in the week. Kevin Hayes and Rickard Rakell have seen time as the second-line center during Malkin's absence. Prior to his injury, Malkin scored in back-to-back games. However, the season overall has not gone well for him, as the seven-time All-Star has tallied 46 points (15 goals, 31 assists) in 62 games.
